UNITED NATIONS: The head of the United Nations agency tasked with defending press freedom has condemned the murder of Pakistani journalist Abdul Razzak Baloch as well as the deaths of three journalists in Egypt and one in Guatemala, calling for a thorough investigation into these incidents.
The Director-General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Irina Bokova, called on Pakistani authorities “to do all in their power” to investigate Razzak’s killing and shed light on this heinous crime.
Razzak, 35, was a reporter for the pro-Baloch nationalist newspaper Daily Tawar. His mutilated body was found in Karachi last week. He had been reported missing since March 24. - APP
